Jackie Chan Drunken Master, is this title familiar to you? Hold on, let me make you clear before you answer. When I said Jackie Chan Drunken Master I didn’t mean the 1994 Jackie Chan Movie The Legend of Drunken Master. I’m talking about the one of the classic movies of Jackie Chan which had played a great role for Jackie Chan to be who he is today. All right, we everybody know who Jackie Chan is, we grew up watching his kung fu skills and his other martial arts techniques and imitating him only to hurt ourself. Or atleast, I did so. So most of us have already watched tons of Jackie Chan movies. If you haven’t, here’s is Jackie Chan Movies List. Pick the movies you might like and start watching. But yeah, these movies are only for the ones who like to watch kung fu movies that has wonderful action sequences, can’t-stop-laughing comedy scenes, hilarious movie plot lines with dangerous villains. Well, there’s some romance, drama, mystery and thriller in his movies too. So, basically, Jackie Chan Movies are for all the people who love to watch movies.

Ok, back to the topic. Jackie Chan Drunken Master is one of the great class kung fu movie but unfortunately not many of us know it. This might be because when people hear Jackie Chan and Drunken Master together they might think of his later movie “The Legend of Drunken Master” which was great hit too and almost everyone liked it. But if there was no Jackie Chan Drunken Master there would have been no “Legend”.
Drunken Master was released in 1978. This movie was huge success at the Hong Kong box office, earning two and a half times the amount of Chan’s previous film, Snake in the Eagle’s Shadow which was also considered a successful film. It was an early example of the comedic kung fu style films for which Jackie Chan became famous. The film was directed by Yuen Woo-ping and starred Jackie Chan, Yuen Siu-tien and Hwang Lee, that spells epic classic to me.
The story revolves around a spoiled, young, mischievous and know-it-all son of a great kung fu master who runs into series of troubles time by time. Being fed up with his actions his father sends him to his uncle played by Sam Sead to teach him some discipline with Kung Fu. Chan, displeased with his father’s decision, often tries to escape from the training but get caught everytime.
His uncle, who is reputed for crippling students during training, forces Chan into his brutal and rigorous training programme. Chan flees again to avoid the turtorous training only to run into the Hwang Jang Lee, a well known paid assassin, and gets beaten up and humiliated. Then he makes his way back to his uncle and decides to commit himself to the Drunken Master’s training program. The training begins and soon Jackie Chan learns secret style of martial arts to be Drunken Master. He gets all trained up and Jackie Chan Drunken Master gets his revenge on Hwang Lee.
In breif Jackie Chan Drunken Master is one of the greatest kung fu movies ever made with the honest storyline that contains humour, fighting and emotions.
