This is Brad Pitt Movies List – Top 10. The list includes the ten best movies of Brad Pitt. Today Brad Pitt is one of the most bankable movie stars in Hollywood, and one of the few actors audiences will pay to see no matter what sort of role he’s playing, whether it’s action, drama or comedy the script calls for, having Pitt’s name above the title is about as close as anyone can come to a guarantee for a hit film. Not so long ago, however, Pitt was just another good-looking dude with enough gumption to work his way into a steady streat of TV shows and bit parts in movies. He’s come a long way, for sure, and to celebrate his latest starring role, in Andrew Dominik’s Killing Them Softly, we decided the time was right for this Brad Pitt movies List.
10. Troy (2007)
Brad Pitt picks up a sword and brings a muscular, brooding presence to the role of Greek Warrior Achilles in this spectacular retelling of the Iliad. Orlando Bloom and Diane Kruger play the legendary lovers who plunge the world into war, Eric Bana portrays the prince who dares to confront Achilles, and Peter O’Toole rules Troy as King Priam.
Director Wolfgang Petersen recreates a long-ago world of bireme warships, clashing armies, the massive fortress city and the towering Trojan Horse.Troy is one of the best ancient movies ever made, and one of the best movies of Brad Pitt.
9. Snatch (2000)
Brad Pitt in Snatch plays an Irish gypsy with all the reckless flamboyancy of the native wit. I’m amazed as an american that Brad Pitt do Irish so well like he understands their lyrical mind inside and out. One of the gangsters jokes that the bogue of the Pikes is deliberately incomprehensible – while the English speaker is occupied deciphering the accent the Pike is putting one over on him.
If you like the previous Guy Ritchie’s cockney-gangster movie Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, this movie is just for you. Besides Brad Pitt, other characters are awesome as well. A must watch movie if Brad Pitt Movies List.
8. Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005)
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie smolder in one of the most anticipated, sizzling action films ever made. After five (or six) years of vanilla-wedded bliss, ordinary suburbanites John and Jane Smith (Pitt and Jolie) are stuck in a rut size of the Grand Canyon until the truth comes out! Unbeknowst to each other, they are both lethal, highly paid assassins working for rival organizations. And when they discover they’re each other’s next target, their secret lives collide in a spicy, explosive mix of wicked comedy, pent-up passion, nonstop action and high-tech weaponry that gives an all-new meaning to “Till death do us apart!”
7. Moneyball (2001)
This Brad Pitt movie Moneyball is based on the true story of Billy Beane (played by Brad Pitt), general manager of the Oakland A’s, who’s just had his best players poached by teams that can afford to pay a lot more. Fed up with how money twists the game, he listens to Peter Brand (Johah Hill), who persuades him that certain players are being undervalued for trivial reasons – - that statistics reveal hidden strengths that could, when used in the right combinations, produce a winning season. Moneyball skillfully takes the audience into Beane’s psyche.
Pitt is in excellent form; it’s an understated but magnetic performance, the kind that rarely wins awards but should. Pitt has the physical presence of a former athlete and vividly expresses the mind of a man who’s never achieved success but isn’t ready to give up. The film is one of the best baseball movies and unarguably one of the best movies of Brad Pitt.
6. Legends of The Fall (1994)
This Brad Pitt film was box-office hit when released in 1994. This sprawling, frequently overwrought familial melodrama may get sillier as its plot progresses, but it’s the kind of lusty, character-based epic that Hollywood should attempt more often. It’s also an unabashedly flattering star vehicle for Brad Pitt as Tristan, the rebellious middle son of a fiercely independent Montana rancher and military veteran (Anthony Hopkins), who is routinely at odds with his more responsible older brother, Alfred (Aidan Quinn), and younger brother, Samuel (Henry Thomas).
In this film Pitt gives one of the best performances of his career as Tristan: watching him, you feel that restlessness and conflict raging within his soul, and you can sense his passion as he seeks his direction in life.
5. Inglouriois Basterds (2009)
This Quentin Tarantino masterpiece stars the ensemble cast of Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, Melanie Laurent and Eli Roth. This movie is pretty outstanding and might be one of the best World War movies. The opening scene is intense, frightening, shocking and appealing all at once, and it sets up the entire film perfectly.
Brad Pitt in Inglourious Basterds portrays the role of Aldo Raine who leads a small group of American Jewish commandos to turn the tables on Hitler and his Nazis. The movie is violent and crude with many scenes of beatings, cuttings, and killings. It captures the brutality of the war. Brad Pitt along with all the cast gives their life-time performance which makes this movie a must watch.
4. The Ocean’s Trilogy ( 2001, 2004 and 2007)
The Ocean’s Trilogy is the one of the best trilogy ever made. The film stars George Clooney who effortlessly charms his way through all three films with real style with the role of Daniel Ocean, and his group of fellow cons that includes Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as they try to pull off different heists in three movies. The movie is thrilling, immaculately packaged slice of Hollywood entertainment, and easily stands up to repeated viewings.
Brad Pitt in the Ocean’s Trilogy takes on the role of Rusty Ryan who is right-hand man of Daniel Ocean. His character’s skill are used more in planning phase of the heists and also taking on disguises. Brad Pitt was superb for the role because of his devil-may-care attitude that perfectly match the attitude of his character. This is one of the must watch trilogy in Brad Pitt movies list.
3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
Brad Pitt in Curious case of Benjamin Button depicts the role of Benjamin Button, a man who essentially ages backwards. The film, as strange as it sounds, is a story of a man who literally ages backwards.
The acting is fantastic all around this film. Brad Pitt does an outstanding job, portraying both the old Benjamin as well as his younger counterpart. Cate Blanchett as his childhood friend/love interest is also a joy to watch. Also, the most impressive aspect of the film is the flawless visual effects. You have never seen aging/deaging done like this. The film will leave you feeling blue but that does not diminish from the fact this is one of the best film of Brad Pitt and one of the best movie for the generations to come.
2. Seven (1995)
Seven is very disturbing, yet awesome thriller about a serial killer John Doe played by Kevin Spacey, who is killing people via examples of the seven deadly sins – gluttony, greed, sloth, lust, pride, envy and wrath. The story begins with Detective Mills portrayed by Brad Pitt being assigned to Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman). Detective Somerset is due to retire at the end of the wee, and Detective Millis is moving up in the world, an is to take Somerset’s place. The character of Brad Pitt, David Millis, is a brash everyman from the suburbs with an undeniable streak of prejudice, a penchant for quick judgment and a thorough lack of sophistication, both personally and culturally.
The film will keep you enthralled and glued to your seat for the entire 127 minutes. This is also an movie with an unexpected ending that is absolutely unpredictable and which is not at all a Hollywood style ending.
1. Fight Club (1999)
Some hate it, others think it’s one of the greatest film achievements of all time. As you can see it rests in the first position in this top ten movies list of Brad Pitt, I’m in the latter. The film didn’t exactly did well when it was released in 1999, but since then has developed kind of an underground following. Some scenes in this film are extremely graphic, there are chunks of nudity throughout, and the overall dark, grungy tone of it turned some viewers off. But in my opinion this is the best work of David Fincher so far and also Brad Pitt gives a solid performance.
The film stars Edward Norton, the narrator and star of the film who takes a major turn when he meet a man named Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt). Tyler takes him in and eventually both of them create an underground ‘fight club’. As events of the film unfold, we get a sense that Norton’s character is not quite ready for the lifestyle that Durden has in store for him and conflict arises. Besides being dark, this film is very smart and makes bold statements against our modern consumer driven society. As Tyler Durden says .. “It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.” It’s the key theme to the film… and it’s a theme that is driven home by the actors and the filmmakers. In my opinion, Fight Club is a master piece.
So these are the top ten movies list of Brad Pitt. The resume of films of this actor is quite impressive. So it wasn’t an easy job to rank those movies and create a top 10 list. I did my best, though there are still some other movies which I felt debatable to not put them on the movies list of Brad Pitt, so below I have left some honorable mentions of the great actor of Hollywood. Do leave your thoughts, as it always counts.
